Passed away peacefully on September 2, 2018 at home at the age 86. Survived by daughters: Dawn, Janine, & Gloria Martin; grandchildren: Jonah (Austin) Rangel, Jeremiah (Amanda) Rangel, Nikki (Dan) Kleman, Andrea (J.B.) Kaiser, Ashlyn & Timothy Martin: 7 great-grandchildren: sister; Lorraine Scheuer: and daughter-in-law; Char Martin. Preceded in death by parents Ernest & Ellen (Norden) Martin, son Wallace "Marty" Martin Jr., and brother Norm Martin. Wallace retired as a foreman from the St. Paul Water Department. As a community activist, he was involved in many Westside organizations including the Neighborhood House, Westside Clinic, Voice Newspaper and WSCO. A Reception will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 4-7PM at the VFW 295, 111 Concord St. Exchange, S. St. Paul. Memorials preferred to The Listening House, 464 Maria Ave., St. Paul, MN 55106.
