Thomas Henry Ustruck

April 24, 1957 – March 28, 2018

Age 60 of Pequot Lakes, MN and West Saint Paul, MN

Tom passed away suddenly just six weeks after his brother, Gary.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, James and Irene (Heidenreich) Ustruck, and brother Greg. Tom is survived by sisters, Sandy (James) Olsen, and Judy (Kevin) Simeon; sister-in-law, Kim Ustruck; nephews, Derek and Luke Simeon; nieces, Jackie (Ed) Kellner, Danielle Ustruck, Samantha and Sara Simeon; great nephews, Aiden and Logan; and great niece Olivia.

Tom moved from West St. Paul to Pequot Lakes to help care for his mother after the death of his father in 2000. He worked at Scamp Trailers in Backus and at Grandview Lodge in Nisswa. Tom enjoyed the quiet and peacefulness of living Up North. He loved to spend time tinkering in his workshop, whether building with wood or fixing small engines. He had a knack for fixing just about anything, even if at times his methods were unconventional.

Tom loved to laugh and enjoyed being around people. He particularly looked forward to the annual "guys weekend" hosted by his brother, Gary.  It was through these friends that he was introduced to the sport of golf, which quickly became a favorite pastime.

Tom was baptized on Easter Sunday in 2017 and became a member of Pequot Lakes Baptist Church where he felt welcomed and loved. He was always excited to introduce his family and friends to other members of his church family. Although Tom's thoughts and words sometimes got jumbled, there was no doubting his big heart and gentle soul.  He will be missed by those who understood his kind spirit.
