Terri Ann
Atkins
Sep 8, 1957 — Jul 25, 2022
Terri "Teresa" Ann Atkins, 64, passed away in her sleep on July 25, 2022 from natural causes.
She was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota where she chose to live most of her life and raise her daughter, Katie.
Terri was born to Barbara Langsten and John Briggs in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She received her GED before enlisting in the US Army in 1985. Through her work in the Army, she was able to explore her passion for writing and broadcast journalism. Being stationed in Italy for a majority of her time in the service, and living there many years after, she was also able to expand her interest in world travel and linguistics. After returning to Saint Paul, she earned her B.S. in Business from the University of Minnesota.
Terri was a devoted mother. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Katie, working hard to provide a fun and safe environment for the both of them. In her free time she was passionate about taking nature walks, and volunteering at Warrior Dog Rescue in Savage, Minnesota. She loved visiting zoos, parks, lakes, and different museums. Her future plan had been to return to Italy and immerse herself in the culture, language and food she missed so much. In recent years, she had retaught herself Italian in the hopes of being self-sufficient during her time there.
Terri is survived by her daughter, Katie Atkins (Ryan Michalicek); mother, Barbara Langsten; brother, Scott Henderson (Barb); and countless other friends whom she loved so much.
There will be a private gathering to celebrate her life at a future date.
Internment will be at Fort Snelling.
Memorials or donations can be sent to Warrior Dog Rescue or the Animal Humane Society.
