Age 90 of St. Paul died peacefully at Inver Glen Senior Living on December 7th, 2019. Preceded in death by her husband Alfred and her sons Albert and little Alfred. Survived by her sons, John (Jean Sabatka) and David (Sue); grandsons Tony (Erin), Adam (Maria), and Jacob and granddaughter Sarah (Reid); great grandchildren Manny, Anya, Gabriel, and Lily. Ruth was born in 1929 and raised in Grossauheim, Germany with her mother, father, and brothers. When she was 16 years old, Ruth met and fell in love with U.S. Airforce MP Alfred Bauman as World War II came to an end in 1945. Alfred and Ruth soon gave birth to their first son Albert, and they married shortly after at a church near the Rhine River. Ruth emigrated to the U.S. and the family moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where they spent the rest of their lives growing the Bauman family. Ruth was known for her delicious cooking and baking, her handcrafted hats and mittens, and her sharp and mischievous German wit. We will miss her beautiful spirit and the twinkle in her eye.
