Rosalind "Rusti" Lea Filkowski, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2020 at her home in Plymouth, MN. She was born on December 12, 1950 in LaCrosse, WI. She was raised in a loving, Catholic family in Galesville, WI where she graduated from Gale-Ettrick High School in 1969 (Go Redmen!). Rusti worked several years for Norwest Bank in LaCrosse before relocating to Plymouth where she made life-long friends at Discover Card, T-Chek and her neighborhood before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her wonderful parents, Gert and Frank Filkowski, best brother-in-law Jerry Mehlhorn and her fluffy, little white dog - Sadie Jane. She will be sadly missed by her sistas Sharon (John) Englund and Tami Mehlhorn. Memories of this generous and quirky Aunt will live on in the hearts of Tony, Marc and Tim Englund along with Jeremy, Sara and Cody Mehlhorn. She also leaves behind, Artie - The Amazing Cat.

Rusti is best known for her love of family, carrying on Gert's knack for baking treats to share with friends and neighbors, being a Packer and Badger fan, tending the neighborhood garden with her green thumb, and long phone chats to keep in touch. Her travels took her to Spain, Australia and Mexico and countless other locales. A concern for others and willingness to listen was trademark to Rusti. She loved to shop, and her outgoing self could always strike up a conversation with a stranger. Known as the family historian, with troves of memories captured in old photos, she would often reminisce about her Galesville roots and the values instilled upon her by her parents. Rusti was always ready to share a good story (Menards and Hunter's Bridge come to mind!) and a laugh over a Rum 'n Coke or coffee and dessert.
