Roger D. Olund, age 71, died unexpectedly in White Bear Lake on Monday, June 26, 2017. Roger was the most wonderful husband, father and grandfather a family could ever hope for.  He was a great teacher of life lessons and was dedicated to his family.  He loved the outdoors and passed that love onto his daughters, Shari and Kim, through many camping trips and bike rides.  He was an avid fisherman and after retiring from 38 years at Northwest Airlines, spent the last 10 years vacationing at Tepee Tonka Resort on beautiful Blackduck Lake in northern Minnesota where he could fish to his heart's content.  His passion for fishing lives on through his grandchildren with whom he taught his favorite sport.

Together, Roger and his wife, Barb, lived a wonderful life together raising their children and spoiling their grandchildren.  They took pleasure in their time spent outdoors camping, biking almost every Minnesota trail, hiking with friends, and cross country skiing.

Roger is preceded in death by parents, Bertil and June; brother Robert.  He is survived by loving wife, Barbara (nee Thulin); daughters Shari (Joe) Champion, White Bear Lake and Kimberly (Brandon) Scheel, Madison Lake; grandchildren, Adam, Megan, Luke and Maddie; and sister-in-law, Nancy.  Service on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10:30 am at South Shore Trinity Lutheran Church, 2480 S Shore Blvd., White Bear Lake , with a visitation one hour prior.  Internment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  Memorials to South Shore Trinity Lutheran Church.
