Obituary

Robert (Bob) Almquist died on September 11, 2022 after a battle with cancer. He was born on February 8, 1942 to the late Emil "Dana" and Marion (Bosshardt) Almquist.

Bob is survived by his two loving daughters and their families - Carolyn, Jake and their three children, Weston, Tyler & Mackenzie; and Ginny, Parry and their two children, Brett and Reese; along with his sister, Sue (Almquist) Chinn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie and his brothers Tommy, John, Dick.

Bob worked hard his entire life - starting with delivering Fuller Brush Company products when he was 10, a newspaper route when he was in middle school, selling Fuller Brush full-time after he graduated and then running an in-home daycare with his wife, which he took over after her death. Even in his retirement, he still took care of his grandchildren, Weston & Tyler, each day until they went to Kindergarten. His daughters were his world and he devoted his entire life to caring for them. He loved cribbage, sports, hunting for antiques and was an avid stamp collector. His 17 year old dog, Bert, was his best friend, and they went for daily walks around his west side neighborhood, where he loved living.

A celebration of life will be held at Johnson Peterson Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5 from 4-7pm with a service following.

The family would like to thank the Regions Cancer Care Center, Health Partners Hospice Program and Our Lady of Peace Residential Hospice facility for their compassionate care throughout Bob's cancer journey. They'd also like to thank all of their family and friends for their support and prayers.
