Patrick Allen
Boettcher
Apr 26, 1952 — Feb 20, 2017
Patrick Allen Boettcher
of West St. Paul, MN age 64
Pat grew up in West St. Paul, MN as the third child in a line of eight children. He had 4 brothers and 3 sisters. His early childhood interests consisted of playing Cowboys and Indians, building chugs to race down Logan Avenue, learning to play the drums, fishing and hanging out with friends and his older brother; Steve.
While attending Sibley High School he met the love of his life; Terrie Mattson. After graduating he attended Bricklayer Trade School but the Military Draft called his number at the age of 20. Pat joined the Army and was sent to Ft. Knox for boot camp. He was later sent to Ruthweiler, Germany where he served for two years. While on a leave from his station in Germany, he returned to the states to marry Terrie on June 30th, 1973 and they both returned to Germany where he completed his service. Upon his discharge he immediately started work as a Bricklayer quickly moving up to the position of Job Superintendent.
Pat and Terrie welcomed two children to their family; Amy was born in August of 1976 and Jeffrey was born in January of 1981. They were also blessed with two grandchildren; Gunnar and Myra. Over the years Pat built a cabin on Big Sandy Lake in McGregor, MN which eventually became their permanent retirement home. Pat love the outdoors, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling at every chance he could. He was on a pool league with friends in McGregor and looked forward to the weekly challenge.
An unfortunate fall 3 years ago resulted in a brain injury making it impossible for Pat to return to his home. That injury along with the onset of Lung Cancer led to his death at an early age of 64.
We will miss Pat's wonderful sense of humor, his political banter, his loud music, his laughter, his long, long, long discussions and his bright smile. Pat, we love you!
