Nancy Lee (Bacon) Hale was born April 3, 1942 in Worthington, MN to Gordon and Hildred (Nesterud) Bacon. Nancy passed away on May 19, 2023.

Nancy was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from the Windom, MN High School in 1960, studied at the Lutheran Bible Institute in Golden Valley for one year and graduated from Augsburg College in 1965 with a BA degree in History. While at Augsburg, Nancy met Curt and they were married on May 8, 1966 at the American Lutheran Church, Windom, MN.

Nancy and Curt made their home in St Paul, MN. During their early years of marriage, Nancy taught middle school for a year while Curt was employed in the field of medical equipment sales. Nancy eventually started to help Curt with his business. Being in sales, they traveled extensively for the various companies they worked for through the years. They successfully traveled over one million miles in their 1996 red Ford Taurus station wagon! Many nights were spent at the local Holiday Inns which became their "home away from home". In fact, Nancy and Curt became one of Holiday Inns top customers world wide! Their business success was due in large part to Nancy's organizational skills. She was the head navigator, keeper of the customer's files, reserved all of their hotel rooms, and made sure all bills were paid on time!

Nancy loved to read and history was her preferred subject. She had a number of favorite authors of which she would purchase many of their books. Always the student, Nancy was known to fill the margins of the books with her own thoughts and notations.

Family was very important to Nancy. She and Curt always made a point of keeping in contact with and attending the milestones of her younger siblings, nephews, and great nephews and nieces.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Curt, and her parents, Gordon and Hildred Bacon.

Nancy is survived by her siblings, David (Julieth Bernal), Joy Koch, Judy (Fred) Haugo, nephews Ben (Paula) Koch, Jeffrey (Courtney) Koch, Ryan Haugo and Rheta Rabe, Brady Haugo and Melissa Huebsch Haugo, great nephews, Vincent Koch and Mateo Koch, Weston and Ellis Koch, great nieces, Maya Koch, Eleanor and Ingrid Haugo, Summer Haugo; and special friends, Harry Brady and Arthur (Jennifer) Brady.
