Obituary

Beloved Father, Grandfather, and Brother. Merwin passed away on 8/2/2022 at the age of 91.

Loving dad to Ricky (Kathy) Perkins, Wendy (Jeff) Guenther, Sheri (Jim) Mallon, and Susan (Marty) Seidl.

Grandfather to Jamie, Jesse, and Kate; Kristi, David, and Kelsey; Leah and Jason; and Brittany and Bailey; and Great Grandfather to 11.

He is survived by his brother, Glendon Perkins, and sister, Marge (Ken) Peterson.

He and his wife Beverly (who passed away in 2016) were a true love story, with a marriage of 63 years. Inquisitive and genuine, Perk made everyone he met feel valued and recognized.

He was a proud Marine, a Korean War Veteran, and a survivor of the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir.

He could fix anything and was an amazing gardener, story and joke teller, fisherman, hunter, marble worker, teacher, and bricklayer/mason extraordinaire.

Merwin (Perk), our dad, had a way of touching the hearts of people in a distinct way. He had an uncommon way of developing relationships with people. He cared about each person he met and would find common ground and naturally begin building a relationship with them. Once you met him, you undoubtedly left with a story to tell about him, and that story would have involved his unique sense of humor. Whether you met Perk once or had known him a lifetime, you would leave him with a smile on your face. Each person he met enriched his life and he held treasured memories of all he met.
