Survived by children, Kaylan (Phyllis) Abel of Spencer, IA, Arlan (Karin) Abel of Minneapolis, and MaryAnn Abel of Bloomington; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; sister, Helen Babineau of Phoenix, AZ; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Plautz of Iowa City, IA. Funeral service Saturday  September 16, 20 1 7 at 1:30 PM, Saint James Lutheran Church 460 W. Annapolis, W. St. Paul, MN. Visitation 1 hour before. Interment Monday September 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM, North Lawn Cemetery, Spencer Ia. Reception to follow interment at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 500 4th Ave SW, Spencer, IA. Memorials preferred to Saint James Lutheran Church.
