Mom and Dad loved their place on Star Lake and spending time with family and friends.
There were many times that all spaces, including the floor, of the cabin were taken up with sleeping bags and blankets. The days were spent swimming and laying on the dock and the nights would bring a long game of Skip-bo, played by mom's rules.
The first year they moved up from Texas, Mom wanted a white Christmas with all of us up there and she even found someone who would give us sleigh rides. We all arrived except mother nature did not play along, there was no snow that Christmas.
Mom was known for her woodworking, painting, sewing, and needlework. She made rocking horses, tables, chests, Christmas decorations, blankets, and many keepsakes for us to treasure.
Mom and Dad enjoyed going to the casino. Laurie and I brought them to the casino one time and watching them play was kind of cute. They would sit together on one machine and take turns hitting the button. Without words, they knew when to cash out and move to the next machine.
Mom loved her grandchildren. Each summer she would take the grandkids for a week, sometimes all at once. As hectic as that may have been, mom loved every bit of it and would ask when they can come again!
Her love continued to grow as the great grandchildren arrived. Even when she was not feeling well, she would want the kids close to her. Eva and Alice held her hand and sang to her and Mason scooted right up and gave her a kiss and hug.
We will miss you Mom!
