Lois was born on August 23, 1927 in Mendota Township, MN to George and Mary (neé Lau) Post on the family farm.  She was the fourth of six children.  Lois was baptized on October 30, 1927 and confirmed on March 29, 1942 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in St. Paul.  She attended school at District 91 School in Mendota Township, MN.

She married Marvin Diederich Hoeft on March 20, 1948.  They soon built a home in Eagan, MN and were blessed with four children: Linda, Diane, Ronald and John.  Lois was widowed on February 27th, 1974.  She moved from her home in Eagan to her new townhome in Inver Grove Heights, MN in 1992.

Lois loved cooking and baking.  She could be found doing what she loved in her kitchen at home, at church running and/or helping out at many functions and funerals, or at the Senior Center in Inver Grove Heights.  She served on the altar guild for 43 years and did funeral planning for 25 years at Emanuel Lutheran and Crown of Life Lutheran Churches.  She enjoyed getting extended family together for large gatherings during various holidays.  When Lois wasn't cooking or baking, she loved listening and dancing to polka music or getting together with friends or family to play games of "500".  She also enjoyed camping and traveling with her family.

Lois passed into the arms of our loving Savior on May 3, 2021 at 12:15 a.m. in her home in Inver Grove Heights with her family by her side after a brave multi-year battle with cancer.
