LEILA J. PICOTTE

Age 93 passed away peacefully on February 6, 2021.  In her native language she was

given the name Blue Hair Wolf Woman - Hi Co I Ga (pronounced Hee Choe Ee Ga).

She is preceded in death by her mother Katherine McKee, father Jasper Picotte,

brothers Louis Snow and Bernard Picotte, daughters Sheila WhiteEagle and Katherine

Masquot-Roy, sons Rapheal Masquot and Timothy Masquot.

She was born in Winnebago, Nebraska on June 13, 1927, lived in Albert Lea,

Minnesota until 1967 when she moved to St. Paul, Minnesota.  Leila was a graduate of

the University of Minnesota and worked as a chemical dependency counselor for many

years in the Twin Cities area.  Throughout her life she helped many people and will be

remembered by all as a friendly, caring, loving person.

She is survived by sister Betty Greencrow, children Kathlene Little Walker, Prosper

Wahkon, Abel Bill DeCora, Renee DeCora, Norman Sutton, Billy Blackwell, brother Jim Clairmont and by

many very loved nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and

friends.

Her family would like to thank Episcopal Homes and their staff for the care, support

and comfort they provided to our loved one Leila in her later years.
