Joseph Albert Blochinger, 95, of West St. Paul, MN passed away on March
23, 2021. Joe was proud to be a WWII US Navy veteran (serving on the USS Neville pictured above). After WWII, Joe
joined his father and two brothers in the family business (Olympiad Skate
Company) to manufacture fine quality figure skate blades for professionals
and amateurs around the world. Later in life he returned to school and
trained as a draftsman for NSP (now Excel Energy), from which he retired.
Joe was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed
traveling, fishing, golfing, gardening and creating with his hands.
Born on Wednesday, 15 July 1925, in West St Paul, Minnesota, Joe was the
son of the late William Blochinger, Sr. and the late Theresa (Apfelbacher).
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Darlene Mariann (Sauer) Blochinger,
daughter, Debra Ann Ensteness and her husband Michael Lewis Ensteness;
one grandson, David Michael Ensteness and his wife Rebecca J (Nelson).
Joseph Albert was preceded in death by four siblings, William Francis
Blochinger, Jr., John Joseph, Marian Teresa Bossart, and Katherine
(Cathrina) E. Godfrey.
