Ida Jean Wilkie
Age 89, passed away on January 15. She is survived by Heather Wietzel, her daughter, and Heather's son Karl Wietzel; Rob and Sue Wilkie, her son and daughter-in-law; and Jim and Wendy Wilkie, her son and daughter-in-law, and their daughter Aya Wilkie, as well as her nephew David Adamson, niece Judy Adamson ,and their families.

Jean, the daughter of Robert Jr. and Florrie (Sanders) Smith, was born and raised in Schenectady, New York, along with her sisters Florence (Smith) Adamson and Joan Smith. From 2009 until her death, Jean lived at Waverly Gardens in North Oaks, Minnesota, near her son Rob, and attended First Presbyterian Church of White Bear Lake . From 1971 through 2009, she lived in Mount Prospect, Illinois, where she attended Community Presbyterian Church, raised her three children, and enjoyed a wide group of friends and activities. After her 1950 graduation from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, Jean also lived in Zenda, Wisconsin, Victor, New York, and Silver Spring, Maryland.

Jean will be missed. Her family and friends will remember her for her love of her family, great intellect and sense of fun. The family is planning a service on Friday, January 26th at 2 PM in the Chapel at Waverly Gardens, 5919 Centerville Road, North Oaks, MN 55127. Refreshments will be after the service. As well a memorial service in Schenectady, New York, in the fall of 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to:
