James Lee Thompson
A kind and gentle man who loved his family, hunting and fishing. He always had a positive outlook on his battle with cancer and our family has great peace knowing that he is in the loving hands of God.
He is survived by his wife Karen (Robinette) of 52 years and his son Matthew (Sherry) and daughter-in-law Sheila Thompson. Grandchildren Emily, Bella, Cole, Isaiah and Jake. His sister Tricia Weigenant (John) and brother Thomas (Darlene) and his dog Sweetie. Preceded in death by son Greg (2011) sister Mary Jo Gerlich, brother Michael, his parents Harold and Bernice Thompson, and nephews Rusty Gerlich and Steven Weigenant, and by his in-laws Sam and Dorothy Robinette and brother-in-law Kevin Robinette.
For over 50 years Jim installed carpeting and he was very proud of his experience and the quality of work that he provided to his customers. He was a graduate of Sibley High School and served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Estes out of San Diego. Peanut Butter and Chocolate were Jim's favorite foods and he ate plenty of both.
