Age 99.
Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother
Georgie was the oldest of 4 children and was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Elsie and George Merches. She grew up during the Great Depression and her family moved to White Bear Lake, Minnesota so that her father could find work at Northern Pacific RR. She graduated from high school and attended a stenography school and after completing her education, took a position at Ancker Hospital as Secretary to the Supt. She enjoyed her 13 years of satisfying work there. Georgie met Merrill and on November 5, 1949 they married and began a family. She was a devoted mother and cared deeply for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Merrill H, parents, Elsie and George and her siblings and their spouses. Survived by children, Merrill (Linda), Nancy (Richard) Schneider, Craig (Janice); 6 grandchildren, Lloyd, Daniel (Tina) ,Robin, Ryan, Luke, Jennifer (Todd); 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephew. We wish to thank her caregiver, Evelyn for all of her support and kindness. Georgie was kind to everyone and an inspiration to all of us.
Service at Johnson Peterson Funeral Home 2130 2nd St.; White Bear Lake, MN; 651-429-7661 on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Union Cemetery; White Bear Lake, Memorials preferred.
