Age 90 died March 10, 2020 in her favorite chair at home watching Bonanza. Born May 30, 1929 in White Bear Lake. Graduate of White Bear Lake High School in 1947.

Preceded in death by son David (1997) husband Howard of 41 years in 2009, and parents Julius and Bertha (nee Kobernick) Gust. Survived by step-children Marianne Johnson and Jack Meline, nephew Michael Gust; also survived by her family of boarders past and present at Mel O Dee Stables and many other friends thru her music.

Donna was a professional musician, member of American Federation of Musicians's Local #30 and Twin Cities Musicians Union 39-73. Donna's first performance was at age 14 at the 617 Lounge in White Bear Lake. She played at the Holiday House White Bear Lake under the name Donna Dee, which she and her husband owned.  Howard and Donna bought a restaurant in Hugo named the Melody Lounge, which they later sold. They then started the Mel-o-Dee Ranch in 1971, an equestrian training and riding center that Donna was still operating.
