Obituary

Dianne Carol Mens (Dissmore), 79

Dianne was called to heaven by angels on August 16th after a painful struggle with cancer. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ward, with whom she had four children: Abbie (Jim), Patrick (Colleen), Shelly (Kevin,) and Kelly (Matt) and grandchildren Andres, Isabella, Nico, Isaac, Hazel, and Isis. She is also survived by two loving sisters, Mitzi and Mary (Robert), and many nieces and nephews.

Dianne was born and raised in Menahga, MN. She moved tp Minneapolis and got a nursing job. She married Ward in 1965 in St. Paul. She taught Sunday School for 18 years, volunteered in her children's classrooms, was a loyal Mobile Meals coordinator for 46 years and co-owner of Concord Drug.  She was an amazing hostess and homemaker who doted on her family and friends.  In their later years, Dianne and Ward discovered the world beyond Minnesota, enjoying 12 cruises and visiting 42 countries.

The world is truly better because Dianne Mens inspired us with her love, faith, and selflessness.

Please help us celebrate Dianne's life at Faith United Methodist Church in West St Paul on Wed Aug 23.

The visitation will be an hour before the service 10:00-11:00 am and the service will begin at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, family choice.

A luncheon will follow at the church.

Please look for her obituary in Sunday's St Paul Pioneer Press.

************ Construction update for driving to the church:The intersection of Oakdale and Thompson will remain closed for the foreseeable future, with Oakdale also blocked at Wentworth. The construction underway involves several months of road and utility work along our section of Oakdale, as well as the installation of a roundabout at Oakdale and Thompson. During this time people will need to take a detour to reach the church property. Schletty Lane is accessible from both Waterloo and Christensen Avenues."
