Beverly M. Ekholm

Age 90 of Inver Grove Heights, MN passed away on January 11, 2019.  Preceded in death by husband Richard and brother D. Peter Carlson. She will be deeply missed by children Anne, Paul (Laura), Bruce (Julie); grandchildren Kirstin (Jacob), Erik (Courtney), Peter (Kaci), Björn, Kristia (Mike), Lisa (Zach), Anders, Annika, Kara (Matt), Britta; great-grandchildren Ada, Amy, Amelia, Chelsi, Cooper, Laci, Liam, Lincoln, Madi, Mae, Michael, Nora. Bev was born in Red Wing, MN to Henry and Sofie Carlson.  Bev started college at St. Olaf College, but met the love of her life, Dick, in Red Wing and followed him to the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1950 with a degree in English and Theater Arts. Bev and Dick began married life on August 19, 1950.  After their three children were born, Bev went to work at Henry Sibley Senior High School as a 10 ^th Grade American Literature teacher. Retiring after 23 years of teaching, Bev continued her love of reading by serving as chair of the Dakota County Library Board for 10 years.  Bev and her family are forever grateful for the care she received from the staff at Timber Hills, in Inver Grove Heights, where she enjoyed her remaining years. Bev loved her family and loved to travel, read books, plan family events, and cheer on her beloved Red Wing Wingers.
