Obituary

Barbara J. Day, long-time resident of Rosemont, Minnesota, died Sunday January 29th at the Commons on Marice at the age of 75.

Born in 1942 to Myrtle and Allen Baughman, Barb enjoyed a stable, secure, loving childhood. The family lived on 7 acres in Inver Grove Heights raising garden produce to be sold and given to family and friends.

Barb went to school at Rosemont, graduating in 1960.  She then attended Rasmussen Business School.  She worked for a short time as a clerk/typist.  Upon marrying her husband, Richard Day, she left her job and moved to Fort Hood, Texas, where he was stationed in the Army.  They stayed there until he was transferred to France.  After he was discharged from the Army, they invested into a bright yellow house in Rosemont.  Barb devoted most of her married life to home and family.

Barb explored her family roots by traveling to Norway and fed her adventurous spirit by exploring much of the U.S. via bus tours.  She was a creative at heart, doing many crafts at home.  Barb was a woman of faith, attending church regularly, and most importantly showing God's love through her character and kind actions towards others.  She was a generous woman, famous for her large Christmas "mystery-boxes" full of unpredictable surprises.

Barb had a smile that could light up a room and laugh that was contagious.  She always had a quick wit, right up until her last days.  If anything, Barb was appreciative for a life full of blessings and loved ones.  Some of her last words being "thank you all for being here."  May we all live with an appreciation for the important things in life; faith, family, friends.

Barb was p receded in death by husband, Richard Day; parents, Al and Myrtle Baughman; brother, Harold Baughman; father in law, Emerson Day; and sister in law, Barb Browder. Survived by daughter, Janine (Walter) Tysk; son, Eric (Kari) Day; sister, Grace (Carl) Erikstrup; mother in law, Marge Day; sister in law, Helen Baughman; brothers in law, Dennis and Ron Day, grandchildren, Shane (Ger), Nicole, Nathan, and Erick; great grandchildren, Andre and Dante; and nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all.

May her memory be blessed.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Commons on Marice  and Brighton Hospice for the wonderful care.
