Ardella Bertha Hultman, 93, of Vadnais Heights, died peacefully with family at her side on December 3, 2020, from complications of COVID-19.

Ardella was born September 25, 1927, in Faribault, Minn., to Arthur and Alma Schultz.  She attended Wilson High School in St. Paul and later in life St. Paul Vo-Tech, earning credentials in food service management.  For many years, Ardella was in charge of food service at the White Bear Lake and Maplewood care centers.

Ardella was an upbeat force of nature with a caring and take-charge personality.  She was active in her church, sang in the choir for decades, and was the "go-to" person for social events in her senior living community and family.  Many of her grandchildren called her "Sweetheart Grandma" due to her radiant, loving manner.

She is survived by children Daniel, Donald (Lauri), Dawn Fontaine (Irv), and Dale (Patricia); ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Gordon, brother Kurt Schultz, son David, and grandson Alex.
